Session 1: Why we co-op

In this session we will address the following topics:

  1. The cooperative model and the wide range of cooperatives in Wisconsin
  2. The cooperative identity: definitions, values, and principles
  3. Why people form cooperatives: the benefits for members, customers, and communities

Session 2: The cooperative difference in action

In this session we will address the following topics:

  1. How cooperatives differ from other forms of enterprise
  2. How cooperatives evolve over time: challenges and opportunities

Logistics and Registration

Format: The Cooperative Roots training takes place over two 90-minute webinars, one week apart. The sessions will include speed dating to meet other cooperators from around Wisconsin, small group discussions with guiding prompts, presentations from UWCC staff, and many opportunities to engage with cooperators from different sectors and types of co-ops.

Who should attend:

This training is intended for co-op employees who are new to co-ops and are located in Wisconsin.

Cost: $75/attendee

Attendees per co-op: no more than 3

Must be an employee of a co-op that is based in Wisconsin.
