Strengthening Cooperatives’ Superpower of Democratic Member Control

UWCC launched the Cooperative Governance Research Initiative (CGRI) to meet a need in the cooperative community for robust data on governance practices. The response to our first CGRI survey made it clear there is a hunger for this kind data and for evidence-based governance resources. UWCC has made a long-term commitment to collecting and disseminating this important data, but we need the support of the cooperative community to achieve our vision. We hope you will join us in our work to strengthen cooperatives’ superpower of democratic member control by becoming a Friend of CGRI!

Why support CGRI?

  • There is no other research like it! CGRI is the first national, longitudinal research on cooperative governance practices in the U.S.
  • It’s the cooperative way! By supporting this research, you ensure CGRI remains focused on the needs, challenges, values, and aspirations of cooperatives.
  • There is so much more we can accomplish together! Your gift will support future years of data collection as well as the development of educational resources and tools that help cooperatives reflect upon and improve their governance practices. Potential resources include sector specific reports and an interactive, online benchmarking tool for cooperative governance practices.
