Lynn Pitman joined the University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives as an Outreach Specialist in 2005. She has developed or collaborated on educational programming, materials, and reporting on a variety of cooperative topics across sectors. Lynn has been a part of several of the Center’s research projects on the cooperative economy, coordinating survey or data-gathering projects and reporting. She also provides technical assistance and is a resource to new and established cooperatives on a range of issues.
Before joining the Center, Lynn worked as a volunteer board member for a neighborhood grocery co-op start-up effort. Like many who become involved in cooperative efforts, her experiences led to her participation in other community organizations. She served on the board of her neighborhood association and was involved in city planning and development issues. She currently serves on her town’s planning commission. Her first career was as catalog marketing director for several growing entrepreneurial firms.
