About the Training

University of Minnesota, Land O’Lakes Member Relations, and the University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives will host a director leadership program January 7-8, 2025 in Mankato, MN.

Training topics will include:

  • Multidimensional Governance & Developing your Co-op Leadership Toolbox
  • Learning from Experience: Implementing and Reflecting on Cooperative Governance Improvements
  • Agricultural Outlook for Minnesota in 2025
  • What you Know and Don’t Know as a Director
  • Insights from the Top: Navigating Major Changes in Cooperatives

This highly interactive program will include small group exercises, case studies, peer learning, and extensive question and answer options with speakers. A variety of speakers will present, and the program will be facilitated by Professor Michael Boland of the University of Minnesota.

Who should attend: this training is developed for directors of agricultural cooperatives. Senior cooperative leadership is also welcome to attend.

Program Schedule Update

We value your input! In response to attendee feedback, we’ve made some adjustments to the program schedule to better align with your preferences. We have moved the majority of the training to one day. The program will commence Tuesday, January 7 in the evening with a welcome dinner and presentation. Wednesday, January 8 will be a full day of training.

Wednesday, January 8, 2025: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Attendees are responsible for making and paying for their own lodging arrangements with the hotel.

Registration Rates

  • Individual attendee: $275/person
  • Team rate (3 or more attendees from the same co-op) $250/person

Register

The last day to register is December 30, 2024.

Registration includes: Tuesday evening social, supper, and presentation.  Continental breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Attendees are required to make their own lodging arrangements at the contracted hotel. Lodging costs are not included in the registration fee.
