The
Center for Cooperatives recently received major gifts for education and
research from CHS and CoBank. The gifts
will support graduate education on cooperatives, research on the impact of cooperatives,
and two new initiatives.
The first
initiative will take advantage of the extensive resources at UW-Madison to
support international internships at cooperative enterprises. These work experiences will broaden students’
understanding of global cooperative activities.
The second initiative will fund curriculum development on cooperative
topics by faculty across the UW-Madison campus. It is intended to expose more students to the significance of
cooperatives in society and the economy.
These gifts will have a lasting impact on the Center’s capacity to
fulfill its mission of “fostering critical thinking and understanding about
cooperatives".
