Data Resources in the Center

The Center now makes available several categories of raw and tabulated data to researchers and the interested public.  Some of the data have been gathered through survey and documentary research by the Center's faculty and staff. The rest have been compiled by others and the Center's staff have cleaned and formatted them.

In all cases you can get additional information about the data and how to acquire them by following the links in this text or by sending email to info@uwcc.wisc.edu.

Costa Rica: CoopeTarcoles

Anne recently received a UW-Madison grant to develop a module on Costa Rican cooperatives for the course she teaches on cooperatives, AAE 323. In March, she traveled to Costa Rica to meet with faculty at the University of Costa Rica and leaders from a wide variety of cooperative sectors, including credit unions, worker-owned cooperatives, agricultural co-ops, and utilities.

A highlight of the trip was a visit to CoopeTarcoles (http://coopetarcoles.org/), a fishing cooperative on the Pacific coast.
