How do we educate the cooperative leaders of the future?
How do we increase understanding about the advantages and challenges that the cooperative model presents?
How do we share that knowledge so others may benefit?
Cooperatives are unique in their structure and orientation, balancing both
financial and service components for their member-owners. As a vehicle for
collective entrepreneurial efforts, cooperatives can meet members' needs,
create jobs, fuel wide-ranging community economic impacts, and foster the
growth of both tangible and intangible community assets.
The University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives is the only
university-based center that supports scholarship across all sectors of the
cooperative community, with perspectives that are regional, national, and
international in scope. The Center also serves as an example of the
Wisconsin Idea, bringing university learning out into the broader community -- to policy
makers, cooperative business leaders, community
developers, and the public.
Your contribution will help to:
-- develop broader faculty involvement from multiple disciplines;
-- build a fellowship program for graduate students studying cooperatives;
-- sustain Center staff outreach and educational programs.
Make a donation online through the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Your gift will be
directed to the Center for Cooperatives.
Thank you for your support.
